The Membership Committee works to improve the member experience by managing a variety of league functions and providing guidance and resources to members. Management of league functions include, but are not limited to, managing membership dues, scholarship requests, member onboarding and manages equipment and gear agreements. The Committee provides advice and resources such as Risk Management, assistance with mediation for interleague grievances and helps coordinate volunteer activities.
The purpose of the Training Committee is to determine and establish our goals as members of this league, and to enact the plans to achieve them. Training is responsible for planning & leading practices. These practices include: New Skater Bootcamp, Advanced Derby, and Officiating Skills.
The Finance committee creates the annual budget and keeps track of league income and expenses. The finance committee also oversees our sponsorship and fundraising sub-committees and manages all payments, expenses, and invoices.
The Competition Planning Committee schedules and organizes each home bout of the season, and acts as the league liaison for visiting skaters and officials. The committee organizes away bout travel and accommodations for skaters and officials, and coordinates volunteers for all home bouts.
The Marketing & Community Committee encompasses all things PR. They create posters for league events, such as bouts and training camp. Design the Flathead Valley Roller Derby season program each summer, turn out fun social media posts and videos, and manage the FVRD website.
